I recently bought the OXO good grips compost bin as a way to decrease food waste going into my general waste bin. I personally live in a flat and the shared food waste and garden trimming bin is on the other side of the building. It isn’t always convenient for a small handful of food or a couple bread crusts… Especially in the rain. I bought this compost bin to ensure I re-purpose any food waste. After I did some research and ultimately a blog on How to compost at home. I had to buy a compost bin. I question if anything why I didn’t do this sooner…

Would I recommend buying?
Absolutely! This is no hassle or extra work, if anything it makes my life easier. I prepare my food on the same bench my compost bin is on. I can throw a handful of food waste in the bin or scrap my chopping board in. I’d say I currently empty this once a week. If you were to place a average slice of bread flat into the bin that the size of the space for context. It’s low price and requires no additional products. Some compost bins like Joseph Joseph Stack 4 compost bin requires bags. This one is larger with a 4L capacity and a little more expensive, but the compostable bags does mean you don’t have to clean your compost bin.
